How to avoid spam emails or late-night calls?

Can we keep our email ID or Phone number secret?

Some people think keeping email ID and telephone number secret is the best way to avoid spams or unwanted calls. Other many think we can not keep phone number and email ID secret because it is meant not only for us to communicate with those we want but also for others who want to communicate with us. It may be personal choice not to get emails or calls from other than family members or some selected persons invited. Even some people may have personal problem being open for contact. But there may be some other people or friends wanting to contact us for some good reasons. Keeping our address secret means avoiding them too. We find many people providing personal information in their business cards, papers, web profiles, and so. We can find lists of personnel, department/faculty staff, and experts with their contact address in organizational websites and on web based database system. Spammers can harvest the information not only from list on the websites but also from our address book and sometimes crack in email system database. I have an experience getting more spams in my email account that is not listed anywhere than the one that is listed on a webpage. Finding our names and telephone numbers is not a difficult task for any person who wants even we do never provide him. I started getting phone calls with my name as soon as I had just installed new telephone and was hardly known to anybody. The way to stop having unwanted calls is first to ask the caller gentlemanly not to call again and secondly, if it is much annoying, report it to authority. It is not the best way to keep email address or phone numbers secret in order to avoid such calls or emails if we want to use them for communication. Here I am giving some ways to avoid emails you think them spams. This is meant to common web-based email users who frequently get unwanted emails in their accounts.

How to block spam emails ?

First and the easiest way, if you are getting only few, is just to ignore and delete (that we usually do) and ask the sender politely to stop sending emails. If it does not work you can block the sender in your account. Sometimes the sender email you frequently with different IDs. you can block them too or report the spam to email system authority that will track the origin and block permanently and blacklist them. You yourself can find the origin of the email (IP address from where the email was written) from email header option in your account.
